Individual Counseling

As a licensed psychotherapist, I offer holistic professional mental health counseling services in an accepting environment in such a way that fosters each clients sense of self through their healing journey. Individual psychotherapy sessions typically involve an interactive process between you and I. Sessions may include discussion, survey completion, or teaching. Specific approaches will vary based on your presenting concerns. I utilize attachment-based, trauma-informed evidenced based practices and utilize methods that bring you to a place of mental wellness and recovery. A typical session will be scheduled for 50-55 minutes. Frequency is determined by need, but will likely be 1 time per week or 1 time every two weeks.

Family Meditation

Individual sessions with a collateral attendee may be held to gather additional assessment information or may be the focus of therapy. Family members may be invited to sessions to provide support to the client and/or to provide information about the family values, culture and norms, for example. Decisions about who to include in treatment are made jointly with the client, with significant others, and myself. We may also decide that it is best for your treatment to be engaged in individual or family psychotherapy only. Again, this decision is made together.
Consulting For your Business

They then use this information to develop a plan that outlines specific recommendations and solutions to address the identified issues.

This form of counseling acknowledges that racism and prejudice can cause emotional and psychological distress, and aims to help individuals heal from the effects of these experiences.Racial trauma can manifest in a variety of ways, including anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and other mental health issues. Racial trauma counseling can help individuals cope with the symptoms of these conditions and develop strategies for managing the effects of racism and discrimination.
Clinical Supervision
Clinical supervision is an essential component of professional development for therapists. It provides an opportunity for therapists to discuss their clinical work with a more experienced therapist and to receive guidance and support in their professional practice. Here are some key points to consider about clinical supervision:

1. What is clinical supervision? Clinical supervision is a collaborative process in which a more experienced therapist provides guidance and support to a less experienced therapist. The purpose of clinical supervision is to improve the quality of therapy services and enhance the professional development of the therapist.

2. Why is clinical supervision important? Clinical supervision is important because it provides a forum for therapists to discuss their cases, seek guidance and feedback, and receive support for their professional development. It also ensures that therapists are providing ethical, effective, and evidence-based treatment to their clients.

3. Who needs clinical supervision? Clinical supervision is typically required for therapists who are in training or who are working toward licensure. However, even experienced therapists can benefit from clinical supervision to enhance their professional development and receive support for challenging cases.

4. What are the benefits of clinical supervision? Clinical supervision can help therapists develop better clinical skills, improve their self-awareness, and enhance their professional growth. It can also help therapists avoid burnout, manage ethical issues, and provide better care for their clients.

5. How does clinical supervision work? Clinical supervision can take many forms, including individual or group sessions, face-to-face or online meetings, and formal or informal discussions. The frequency and duration of clinical supervision sessions can vary depending on the therapist’s needs and goals. Overall, clinical supervision is an essential component of professional development for therapists. It provides an opportunity for therapists to receive guidance, support, and feedback on their clinical work and enhance their professional growth.
